Girls Student can Apply for Free BMTC Bus Pass Under Shakti Scheme
Bengaluru, June 2025 – In a major move to promote accessible education and gender equality, the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has introduced the Shakti Scheme for the academic year 2025–2026.
Under this initiative, all girl students currently enrolled in schools or colleges and holding a valid Karnataka domicile can travel free of cost on ordinary BMTC buses.
Eligible students can apply for concessional or free bus passes for the upcoming academic session through both online and offline modes.
Application Process and Details
The application window for BMTC Bus Pass for the 2025–2026 academic year will open on the last Monday of May 2025.Offline Mode:
Applicants can visit the nearest Bangalore One Center or any of the major BMTC depots, including those at Majestic, Kengeri, Shantinagar, Electronic City (Depot-19), and other nearby bus stations.
- Timings: Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Sunday: 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM (Bangalore One Centers only)
