This means cancer patients no longer have to worry about transportation costs when going for their treatment.
Starting now, cancer patients can travel 100% FREE on all types of KSRTC buses—whether it's a regular bus, city bus, or even superfast buses.
Who Can Use This Free Service?
Any cancer patient in Kerala who needs to travel for treatment purposes can use this service. This is a huge upgrade from the old system where patients only got a 50% discount and only when traveling to the Regional Cancer Centre.
This includes trips for:
- Chemotherapy sessions
- Radiation therapy appointments
- Doctor consultations
- Any other cancer-related medical visits
The KSRTC has warned that fake medical certificates will not be tolerated. If anyone submits false documents, the card will be canceled immediately and legal action will be taken against them.
How to Get Your Free Travel Card
If you want to know how you will get a free travel in all KSRTC buses, then you must have a valid document proof while applying for the bus pass. The process is simple and completely online:

Step 2: Upload these documents:
- Your passport-size photo
- Aadhaar card copy
- Address proof
- Medical certificate from an oncologist (cancer doctor)
Step 3: Wait for KSRTC to check your documents
Step 4: Your free RFID travel card will be delivered to your home by a KSRTC officer.
This initiative was announced by Kerala Transport Minister K.B. Ganesh Kumar and implemented by KSRTC Chairman Pramoj Sanker on October 29, 2025.
Many cancer patients and their families spend thousands of rupees every month just on bus fares for treatment trips. This free travel scheme removes that financial burden completely.
